I thought about the digital display but had not checked. You are right. A change from 1 -> 4 generates only one event that way.
I never noticed that knobs stop along the way. Interesting: I changed the representation to DBL and typically get two events when changing the value by approximately one. The first event has a value close to the old value and the second is the final value. That was with execution highlighting on. With execution highlighting off I get 10-20 events depending on how steady I am with the mouse. The number of events was counted by looking at a probe on the loop iteration counter i.
