Velocity Control for Newport XPS

Hello,

I am fairly new to LabVIEW. I was thrown on a project with a new Newport XPS Q-8 controller. They need the program to do several things but the first thing they need is to take the example program (attached), and add to it such that we can control the velocity of the linear movement. It has some VI's that most people don't have, so it may not help. But if someone could give me any examples (or even VI's/Classes) of velocity control for an XPS motor I would greatly appreciate it! I will need to add more stuff to this program as time goes on, but the first thing that is needed is motor speed control.

Do you have the LabVIEW Drivers prepared by the manufacturer?  Their LabVIEW manual shows a bewildering variety of subVIs that appear to control everything this (very-capable-appearing) controller can do.  So if it is possible to make the Controller move at a specified velocity, then I'm sure that there is a VI (of 17) to do that for you.

The LabVIEW part seems simple, understanding the capabilities and all of the functions of the controller seems much more difficult.
