Hello all, I have a HX300 circulating chiller that uses a Watlow F4 controller. I want to control the F4 controller and monitor the conditions from it such as pressure rate and temperature using LabView. I heard of the Modbus driver that helps make this communication possible and have downloaded it. I am using the LabView 8.6 version and followed the necessary steps to include it into Labview. I have very little experience with Labview and am wondering how to begin writing the code for this. Any help is very much appreciated! Thank you, Eric

I am communicating with the controller correctly. What I meant by heat up and cool down is that the chiller recognizes that the current temp is not the same as the setpoint temp I created. It will move towards the setpoint temp like a thermostat and when it reaches the setpoint, it will stay there until I change it again. I have solved the setpoint problem. I will post if there are any other problems. Thank you!

I'm posting this for whoever may need it.

I tried reusing some of the provide scripts form watlow with no luck. After trial and error the following scripts seem to work for basic commands like set and read temperature.

Controller Single channel F4

Communication: RS232 modubus via Lantronix xDirect-IAP Lan to RS232 modbus adapter.

(Pin 11 on the F4 was connected to pin 9 on the Lantronix adapter for power.)
