When creating a subVI's Icon the right click tools are disabled.

Im trying to create an subVI icon but when I go to the front panel and right click on the Icon in the upper right corner the tools for editing the Icon connection is grayed out.  What would caused me to lose my editing capabilities?

The main reason I didn't post the solution is that the problem was pilot error and I over flew the airport (forgot one of the procedure steps).
