Being a niovice programmer Engineer
I don't do this terribly often but I have learned that as painful as it might be initially, it is far better to
download and Install the device drivers image to the hard drive as compared to from a CD.
By the way this is what NI told me to do when I called them about this problem (Oh I mean feature) . The CD installer while supported may end up not having the files you need anyway as per the version change dependency discussed upstairs and so on, and because it may be some old stuff it will ask you for a CD thinking you are somehow endowed with numerous ones from many products.
After Downloading and installing latest device driver LV always seems to be able to find what it needs for DAQMX or any other driver and apparently this simplify the process for the installer.
Thus I have one development platform that is stacked to make installers from and it works flawlessly.

I see what you are saying. I certainly intend to have the files saved locally for future installer creation, so that I will not be running from a CD.
However, for this first time (actually I just updated my application from LV7.1 to 2013 so this is my first time building an installer in LV2013) building the installer, it is asking for an older version of the device drivers than the one installed on my system, and will not accept the newer one. Perhaps it is true that I simply need to uninstall and reinstall DAQmx and then mass compile everything.
