but where is the PLC set and how is it set?I dont find any such thing in the manual
You have to look in the manual of the 34970A.
In my manual it's starts at page 103, among others 🙂
It can be set for each channel differently, for example : SENS:VOLT:DC:NPLC 10,(@301) = DC voltage with 10 PLC for channel 301
Edit : Smiley in command line is in fact ": D" with no space in between!
PS: How can I avoid smiley's????

I managed to read that part in the manual...and was able to change the PLC manually but how is it done so in advanced vi.
leaving the speed ..advanced vi i have attached does not seem to be working in normal run mode and works only in highlight execution mode.
and is the vi correct?

Try it like this...

I also just noticed you have the time/scan interval set to manual and 1000, try setting them back to the defaults (minimum and 0) in the CONF Trigger.vi

I don't know if the OP will be able to open your VI since his was writen in LV8.0 🙂
I have also another thought to share!
Since he uses only one channel do we need a scan list?
Can't we just close relay 101 and measure continously?
Because now relay 101 will open and close continously for nothing 😞

Doh, I didn't realise he was using < 8.6...
Sorry to say no, the Agilent does not operate that way.
You have to "scan" even if you just want one channel.
In reality this is probably not the insturment he should be using if he needs continuos monitoring of just one temperature.

sorry for the confusion.
Right now i am testing with one channel only but I may actually need about 3to 4 channels atleast.
Anyways Thanks for the corrections in the vi I will try them today and update on how it works.

If you go to your NI profile and go to the preferences tab, there is a setting for emoticons. Set it to none. Then it won't show any emoticons that would be equivalent to punctuation marks 😄 😛 😉 ....
The only smiley's that will show will be the ones people entered from the toolbar.
