analog close channel for agilent 34970A

Hello,

I am a new user of labview.I need some help programming my Agilent 34970A.

I can initiate communication with my instrument and take data,but I want to close a particular channel and read channel several times and average.

I was looking for a VI something like "Analog close channel" using which I can close a particular channel,read it several times,average the data and then go to the next channel.

Could you please help me in this issue,eagerly waiting for a reply.

first, get the agilent drivers on the NI site or Agilent.

Your problem requires three steps : one is to close the channel (there is a vi called switch.vi whichwill let you close or check the state of a channel); then is to measure something (if you have already the DMM installed in the 34790A then it is easylook at EZ Voltage.vi) and then to averag. for the latter use a for loop and get out an array which you can average easily with the mathtools in LV. Post something showing what have you done and we'll get you from there.

Here is the program which I wrote that does my task of closing the channel once and reading it several times without opening.

Could some one help mefind out the mean and standard deviation of the readings.

They are being read as array of strings, I need to find out the mean and standardf deviation.

in the panel  Math and statistics you have several subvi's that can calculate mean and variance, std dev, and so on (input an array and the output is exactly what you need)

what version of LV are you using ?
