Hi everyone,
I wanted to reuse a cDAQ-9172 available at my university, but I'm encountering compatibility issues with Windows 11. I read that the latest NI-DAQmx driver supporting this chassis is version 17.5, which is compatible with LabVIEW 2017. However, this version of LabVIEW only works up to Windows 10.
Is there a workaround for this problem? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Best,
José

You can install LV2017 also on Win11 computers and you can also install DAQmx2017 on Win11 (atleast I guess so, never tried so far).
Other workaround: use a Win10 computer. Win10LTSC is still supported until 2029 by Microsoft…

Hi Gerd,
You are totally right, LV2017 and DAQmx2017 did work in the end in Windows 11.
Thanks for your reply!

But DAQmx before 22.0 or thereabout has potential problems on 12th and 13th generation Intel Core CPUs. With BSODs as possible failure. So better don’t try your DAQmx 17.x on a fairly modern computer with Intel CPU.

Thanks for your comment, Rolf! Using Windows 11 should be a temporary solution; I'm in the process of obtaining a PC with Windows 10.
I managed to read my thermocouples in NI MAX. However, I just realized that I don't have a LabVIEW.exe file, even though I downloaded the LabVIEW 2017 runtime (I tried both 32-bit and 64-bit versions). I can see LabVIEW 2017 listed in the software section within the NI MAX menu (attached picture), but when I go to the folder indicated in the path, I don't find any .exe file.
Any ideas on what might have gone wrong would be greatly appreciated.
Best,
José

That are only Runtime versions. You need the Full/Professional Development System Installer.

Perfect, thanks again Rolf!
