Hi
I am having a Siemens PLC & cRIO. Is it possible to communicate between them over profinet using cRIO Controller ethernet port.
Thanks

Hi R.V.
You will need a the PROFINET module to communicate, which you can find here: https://www.ni.com/en-us/support/model.crio-pn-s.html
Additionally, the module is offered as a slave only.

Hi Aix,
Actually I have to develop a back up system for the existing running system. In the current running system, cRIO does not have any profinet module & ethernet cable is connected to the Ethernet port of cRIO.
As per the information I received PLC & cRIO are connected to the profinet. Is there any other way to communicate on Profinet using cRIO controller ethernet port?
Thanks

Hi R.V.
Unfortunately, there is no other way to do so outside of the PROFINET module. However, the secondary Ethernet port for the cRIO can be used for Ethernet/IP or EtherCAT if your PLC can use either of those ethernet-based protocols.
