cRIO networking issues

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this question, but could anyone offer any advice on getting a cRIO device to communicate with a computer workstation through a university network connection? Has anyone dealt with this issue before? I am able to get the cRIO to show up on the computer using a separate wireless router connection, but the network connection will not work. Is there a place I can look to find some help with network connection issues?

Can you access the cRIO through MAX if you right-click on remote systems, choose create new, and manually enter the cRIO IP address?

I was wondering how you access through the network. Is there a router between you and the cRIO? Routers can link computer with different IP subnets. What is the IP address of the cRIO and what is the IP address on your computer (run CMD and type ipconfig<Enter>)? If you are not on the same subnet, MAX may see the cRIO, but you will have trouble configuring it and talking to it via TCP.

Most universities also have an IT department that may be able to help you resolve some of these problems.

Thank you for your suggestions. I was able to access the cRIO directly from MAX after downloading the latest version of NI-RIO (version 3.1.1, I think) and restarting the computer.
