convert rocker switch to a 3 position switch

i would like to convert a 2 position rocker switch to act as a 3 position "off in center" switch, spring loaded to the center postion. There are a couple of examples on the forums, but they are too old to open.

Any ideas or examples would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

hmgjr

If you found examples that you'd like to open you can post a request in the Upconvert Requests Thread to get them saved for a newer version of LabVIEW. Be sure to include the VIs in your request message as well as the desired target LabVIEW version.

Here is a slider converted to a 3-position switch.  It gives values of 1, 0, -1.  1 means on in the up direction, 0 means off, and -1 means on in the down direction.  The output is an I8.  Taking the absolute value of the switch output will give you an indication that the switch is not off.
