Not even close. It's not a state machine and you are not passing the last packet to the shift register. You are passing the last filtered signal.

Your last packet would be the one that you have converted to digital. You would retransmit if the remote detected an error - where you are comparing the hashed string to the sent string.

You seem totally lost. Do you really have a good conceptual understanding of what you are trying to do? I thought I did but you seem to be doing things that make no sense compared to what you have said.
