error saving for previous version 2009 to 8.5

This programmatic solution saved my day (the one provided by dan_u ). When I tried to use LabVIEW 2009 (and later LabVIEW 8.6) to save a project for LabVIEW 8.2, it would crash everytime (ingloriously). So this code converted each individual VI to the target version and problem was solved. Thanks a lot brother for sharing the solution.

Glad it helped. I always use it to prevent LV from saving the whole hierarchy. If it can prevent LV from crashing this is even better

I tried this and it worked as you describe.  It creates only a single file saved as previous version.  Since Labview 8.2.1 can only save to 8.0 with no other choice, the Invoke Method: Save:For Previous does not have the Version input.

This still doesn't solve the problem that the saved for pervious VI has to be saved again on the previous (8.0) version of Labview.
