I have observed an issue in LV 2010 SP1 (f4) that the export to excel right click menu function on an array of strings does not open Excel when running an EXE.
I found the below information on the forums but as the last post in the link suggests, it does not work for me either.

scenario: I have an EXE built using LabVIEW 2010 SP1. we have a waveform graph, few numerical indicators and one array of strings indicator on the GUI. when we right click on the waveform graph and select "export to excel", Excel 2003 opens and we can see all the channel data in the columns of excel.
when we right click on the array of strings indicator, we can select "export to excel" option but Excel does not open. the EXE runs as usual but no excel is to be seen. however, this works perfectly well when running from the source code.
1. why does it work on a waveform graph and not on the array?
2. i do not believe in adding any additional llb files to the project while building the applicaiton as this is a feature available in the default run time menu of the control. i am not using any additional report generation functions. however, i tried to include the llb files from NI Report folder and from vi.lib folder but nothing changes.
3. if it is fixed in the LabVIEW 2010SP1 as in the link above, why does it not work?
could anyone help me with work arounds? I hope upgrading the LV version is not the only solution
