I am an application engineer at National Instruments and my role is to support our users. As I understand you have been acquiring data but would not like to have the first few elements displayed or recorded because of 'arming' time.

I saw that you were using VISA calls but I have previously created a simple example which displays how to implement the functionality you are after. The example shows two methods, one uses the DAQ assistant and deletes the unnecessary data after acquisition, the other part of the code shows a DAQmx task which waits before reading. I have documented the code, but if you are unclear at all, please post on this board and I will help you.

Thank you very much indeed. The two examples are very helpful. I think I'll use the second as it the time delay you define at first allow the field to reach its maximum before reading any data.
