how can I convert dasylab DDF files to TDMS

I import TDMS files from various test labs and analyse them using Microsoft Excel from my remote office.

Some older files are DASYLAB DDF format.

how can I convert DDF to TDMS or text, ASCII, CSV etc. readable by Excel ?

To my knowledge there is not a converter but, if you have a DASYLab license, you could created a worksheet that takes a DDF file and saves it into ASCII.

There are also post analysis applications that are capable to read DDF format.

 - NI DIAdem

- Weisang FlexPro

and we also have a product that is now capable to read this format.

I would look into DIAdem because they can also read TDMS as well, not sure about FlexPro

There's a DDF data plug in that you can use in LabVIEW to read the DDF file format. Then convert to TDM as usual.

I do not have Labview but others in the company do.

Is it possible to write a short executable in Labview that I can run here as a runtime copy without having to buy the whole Labview software.

Yes. Whoever has LabVIEW just needs to have the Application Builder as part of their developer suite license or as an addon they purchased with a less expensive LabVIEW package.

They can create your LabVIEW program and build it into and .exe that you can run.  You will just need to install the LabVIEW runtime engine for your PC which is a free download from NI.

Please note, in case you're working with DataPlugins you need to include USI into your App-Builder installer
