In my experiment, I am using a NI USB 6211, the output from a photodetector is given as the anlaog input to NI USB 6211, I would like to read the voltages obtained ie convert the analog signals to digital signals and read & write them using LabVIEW.
Thank you.

Hi Vimmy,
I assume that you are relatively new to LabVIEW, so I would suggest, that you take a look at the Tutorials, especially DAQmx.
For specific information on your problem you take a look at the Example finder.
Hope you find what you are looking for.
Cheers,

Hi vimmy,
It sounds like you are interested in the Analog to Digital VI. This can be found on your functions palette under Programming>>Waveform>>Analog to Digital.vi. This VI can be used to convert an analog signal to a digital signal. You can find additional information about the VI in the LabVIEW help as well.

Yeah, I am very new to labVIEW and basically me being a Mechanical Engineer I dont have good background on the terminology too. So when I used Labview signal express to meausre the signals, I got the numerical values directly into an excel file. So does that mean: the values obtained are already converted to digital and then presented in numerical form.
Thank you.

Yes, that is correct.
And, if you are using Signal Express instead of LabVIEW, post your questions to that board.
