how to run this exercise (Acquiring a Signal with DAQ)

IN the six hours labview tutorial their is the exercise

Exercise 2 – Acquiring a Signal with DAQ

When I open the exercise some errors occur. I am unable to open the properties of DAQ Assistant

I am using  Labview 2009 with CDSIM. I have no DAQ Hardware at the stage

what errors are you seeing? can you take a screenshot? Do you have the NI-DAQmx driver installed? You can check this in Measurement & Automation Explorer - just expand My System > Software
