labview intallation unknown error

Hello,

I am trying to install Labview 2013 developer suite on my PXIe- 8135 embedded controller with Window 7 64 bit OS. The installation doesn't start as a dialogue box appear saying Unkonw Error and there is no detail about that error.

Can someone tell me what the real issue is?

What medium are you using for the installation?  Have you tried installing the software on a "regular" PC?  Does it give you the same error, or does it appear to begin the installation (when on a regular PC)?

It sounds like you have multiple versions of LabVIEW on your PXIe controller (the error message mentions the LabWindows 2009 Run Time Engine).  NI has identified this as a known bug that should be patched -- install the patch, and then see if you still have problems.

It is not entirely obvious to me why you would install a LabVIEW Development System on a PXIe controller, anyway.  Yes, it does have an Intel processor and can run Windows, but it is not an ideal development environment (limited monitor options, limited peripherals, etc.).  [I should mention that I have no experience with LabWindows -- I tend to use my PXI controller with LabVIEW RT, and do not have Windows installed on it, only the Real-Time OS].

You didn't answer the question of the Distribution Medium.  Are you installing from a multi-DVD distribution, are you downloading individual modules and installing from them one at a time, are you using an external DVD drive, etc.  Knowing more might give us a clue to what is going on ...

I am using the set of DVD provided by NI. I even tried to install the patch. During the installation I have a pop up windows saying unknown error. It happens during the patch installation as well. The system seems to not accepting installation of any of the NI's softwares

Hi Mr_yandao,

If you click on the Details button, do you get more information about the error? Have you tried disabling the anti-virus?
