list mode

Hi everyone,

I was wandering if I can use the list mode with arbitrary waveform or it just uses in CW mode? Thanks in advance

Hi Al,

mind to explain your question a little bit?

"list mode" with "arb waveform"?

What is "CW" mode? "clockwise"? With waveforms???

Best regards,
GerdW

Hi Al,

What AWG are you using? Some AWGs support Waveform Sequencing and Triggering, but not necessarily list mode. With just the AWG, you'll be limited to frequency, but you should be able to generate both Continuous Wave (CW) and I/Q waveforms.

Hi Chris,

I am using NI 5673E which comprises the following devices:

• NI PXIe-5450/5451 (NI 5450/5451) arbitrary waveform generator (AWG) module
• NI PXIe-5611 (NI 5611) I/Q modulator module
• NI PXIe-5650/5651/5652 (NI 5650/5651/5652) local oscillator (LO) source module

Thanks in advance

Al,

So this device will be able to generate any I/Q data waveform, as well as CW signals. Also, it indeed does have List Mode, so you'll be able to use the LabVIEW list mode VIs that come in the niRFSG driver suite. Check out this link:

Hi Chris,

Thank you so much for your quick feedback, I have used list mode before and it worked with CW mode. Now as I understood from you that I can use it again in an arbitrary waveform mode.

Thanks again
