nidaqmx base linux example and utility

I have a problem, i currently do not have labview installed on my labview, instead i have installed nidaqmx base in order to use the c api for my usb-6218. However, last time i had labview installed on ubuntu, labview could not detect the device. So, first is there any programs (free) out there which can tell me what labview devices are connected to my computer so i can debug the connection?

Also, are there any examples of the nidaqs base c api? I dont have labview installed so i cant access any examples in the program help.

Thanks!

Hello,

Have you worked with the lsdaq utility that installs with NI DAQmx Base? Does it indicate that the USB-6218 is connected to the machine?

Seems like the installation of the DAQmx Base Driver has not gone according to plan. What Linux distribution are you working with? Does it meet the outlined driver requirements for kernel inclusions?

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS (Minimum System)
256 MB Memory
594 MB Disk Space for full install
NI-DAQmx Base 3.4.0f2 for Linux software for the Intel x86 architecture
requires one of the following distributions:

Red Hat Enterprise Linux WS 4
Red Hat Enterprise Linux WS 5
    Scientific Linux 5.4
    Scientific Linux 5.5
    openSUSE Linux 11.1
    openSUSE Linux 11.2

You must use the provided INSTALL script to install NI-DAQmx Base 3.4.0f2.
