object detection in an auto-selfdriving robot

hi everyone!

me is a young student! 

I am trying to make a self-drving robot 

that detects whether there is an optical in the front of it or not that can be in various colors (red, green and blue) and so it can decide what route to be followed.

I thought I can take advantage of dividing the image I receive from the camera into multiple sub images, to take advantage of the concept of (area of interest) where I couldn't divide my image into left and right parts.

I had the idea of converting the image into an array! and after that converting each part of the array manually into an image format again and then applying the image formula on.

but since I am nobe in the labview world, me is asking for your help.
