position of rotating shaft from analog signal

Hello,

I'm pretty new to labview.  I have the following problem:

I have a wind turbine which is spinning in a wind tunnel.  I have an analog visual sensor attached to the shaft of the turbine which is measuring the RPM of the shaft.  I believe I have built the appropriate VI using timing and measurment VI. (perhaps this is not the best way to do this.) and thus I was going to use "peak detection" but haven't completed it.  I was going to use the built in positioning data acquisition but from what I understand this only works with digital signals.

The main problem:

I need to find the position of the shaft in degrees in real time. The shaft spins between 250 - 1000 RPM.   How can I do this?

Attached is my VI.

If you have the option for digital I would do that. If you take your signal to a digital counter you should be able to get RPM easily. If you DAQ card has quadrature input you just have to set up the channel in NI MAX and it will do everything for you. What card do you have?
