pretrigger and time delay..??

I ussualy used Time delay parameter in FRF-Test,,  Used for delayed in time axis for the input signal (Impuls).

After we trigger the signal with certain parameter like : trigger channel (I use input channel), trigger level and slope. we will get the signal after trigger (used post-triggerred). So, for get the signal before the trigger, I used time delay with certain value and also force width. I set time delay to get the impuls signal which will I get if I set the trigger level is zero and slope is positive (but i can't set trigger level and slope like this, right..?. So, I use time delay.) And Use ForceWidth to get signal which will I get if I set the trigger level is zero and slope is negative. So,I will get the ideal form for input signal..

quest : what's the different between pretrigger and time delay..?? is that same...?

Hi Widi,

I may be a little unclear on how you're using the time delay, but essentially, the time delay is going to be software controlled delay of when a function is called.  Taking pretrigger samples is going to set up a circular buffer that allows you retain a specified number of samples before your trigger occurs.  What hardware are you using?   I'm not quite sure how you're using the time delay, so if you'd like to post your code, that might make things more clear.  Otherwise, are you getting the results you'd like? Have a good one!

Hi Anita,

Thank you for reply...

I used PCI-4451. Actually, I've known. Time delay is different with pre-trigger.  I just compare with HP 3566A/67A that used in my laboratory.

So, when I build the program, I ussualy compare with HP 3566A first.

Thanks,,
