run time 7.0

I have Labview 12.0.1. When I try to run an .vi file I get a message: "windows is configuring NI Labview run-time engine 7.0" and it stays there forever... What should I do?

Thanks for help.

Also somebody who is more familiar with labview told me that he doesn't understand why it needs that runtime thing since labview is installed where the vi is running.

Thanks if you can help.

Hi pgo,

I could open the VI in LV2011 without problems...

When running the VI it just complains about missing/wrong path (OPC server not found)!

Best regards,

This is true, with the full Developemtn Environment installed you shouuldn't need to launch any run-time engine when running the VI. If, however, the VI calls upon a LabVIEW built executable compiled in LV7 then it may need that older run-time engine. I haven't looked at your VI to check if this is the case or not.

Trying downloading and installing the LabVIEW 7 run-time engine and see if that helps.

Hi Thoric,

the VI contains just a collection of DataSocket calls to some OPC addresses...
