self-test VI for PCI-6071E that replicates self-test in MAX

Is there a VI available somewhere which can do this?
Is there documentation available that describes what the self-test in MAX is doing, from which I could create a VI?
If no and no, what would you do to test a DAQmx card for functionality without making external connections (ie not connecting an AO to an AI or a DO to a DI)?

There is no VI available that executes exactly as the Self-Test in MAX. Instead I recommend trying the DAQmx Device Property Node. This can be found in the Functions Pallet >> Measurement I/O >> NI-DAQmx >> Advanced >> System Setup >> Device Node.

This will return all the properties associated with the selected device and will show if the hardware is communicating with the drivers correctly.
