usb daq over ethernet

I have an application that uses a multifunction usb daq and am looking to access it through a ethernet to usb device.  Has anyone done ythis, will this cause pboblem with the daq drivers?  If anyone has tried this I would love to hear about your experiences.  The system has to be accessed from a distance greater than USB can handle.

A little and easy server application can do it, but don't forget, that ethernet may be slower than USB, so you have to sample data and may be send only the mean value over e.g. 10 samples.

Thanks for info, the device is relativly inexpensive I might just give it a try.
