vi reserved in another application instance when heirarchy loaded

I have an application that contains about 500 vi's.  Whenever the application is loaded (not running - just opened in LV), the global vi becomes uneditable since it says it is "reserved in another application instance", but there are not other vi's running which could cause this.  Close the top-level vi, and the global vi switches back to edit mode.  What is causing this?  Is it possible a vi can run-when-loaded?  Is there a simple way to determine which vi is causing this to happen?

TIA,
Bill F

Hi Bill,

There is indeed a Run when Opened feature.  It can be found in File->VI Properties->Execution, and there is a check box for "run when opened".  Hope that helps.
