wanted to build a vi to simulate press and hold button on a panel.

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi,

Had to simulate a press and hold button on a panel to activate the rest of the buttons on the panel.

So far, used Acquire input data, index array, case structure (boolean), all in a while loop.

Any comment to this approach or any idea appreciated,

The vi can be uploaded on request.

Rgds,

David

Not sure I understand. You want the button to stay pressed? Right click and change the mechanical action from latch to switch. Uploading the vi would be very helpful.

The button should act as a press and hold button on standard panels. A saftey feature which activate the rest of button on the panel provided that the button press and hold for certail seconds. Here is the vi.

I am still not clear with what you want...

Could you please elaborate on your application?

Hi David,

I have attached a couple of vi's that might help. One is a press and hold vi, the other is an example of how it works.

Let me know if they help.

Hi David,

Just been thinking about the vi's i sent. Im not too sure (without testing which i cant be bothered to do) whether having the 'Initialise keyboard' and 'Close input device' inside the press and hold vi is a good idea, i am thinking that it is not (I'm sure that someone on here can confirm that for me). I have attached an alternative that i think will be better.

Rgs,

Lucither.
