This also should have been a good opportunity for you to learn to use some of the debugging tools labview has to offer.

VI analyzer, enable/disable structure, case structures with constants wired to them, Highlight execution.

This is unfortunate that it was the folder size but I think you have learned a good lesson in data management. But if you think about it why would you not use a folder structure. I mean who wants to try to analyze a file and have to look through 3Gig of data to find the right one to analyze. Not me!
