I like to add one tip about keyboard layout visualisation.
In windows, there is builtin application named osk.exe (On Screen Keyboard) .
This dynamicaly show current layout (also react to modification keys like SHIFT and RightALT) and also can be use to "type" keys with mouse.

Osk.exe is what I am using. By default, osk is shown in taskbar of w8.1.

Thanks for the osk.exe tip! I had no idea this existed. Now I don't have to worry about forgetting where keys are and hunting around for them
Roberto, you also can change the character set of the source editor font (Options>>Font>>Source Window Font>>Edit), but that's only an option if you don't have a need to display in the editor Greek symbols simultaneously with other extended characters (such as à, è, ì, ò, ù)
