Hi,
The NI Update Service has never worked right for me (on multiple computers, Win 7 then 10). When it pops up, it tells me 2 new updates available. When I select View Updates, it then tells me there are no updates.
I've tried to kill the processes in the startup menu, but somehow they still run. If I look in the task manager, I don't see any NI processes. Apparently NI has hidden the name so I don't know it's the NI update service. So I can't find it.
How can I kill this annoying process?
Pictures of the NI Update Service and Task Manager windows attached.
Thanks,
Dave

BTW, all the NI services have been stopped and I've had many reboots in the past months since I disabled and stopped all NI services.

It is hard to always correctly and throughly guess which service is serving to what purpose.
I used to freely kill processes and services when they looked irrelevant, but that generally causes some side effects.
Make sure you know what you are doing or you may stop some other functionality without knowing. When you face a side effect some time later it is not easy correlate them and you end up re-installing the software (hence re-starting the service)
