Digital meter precision

Solved!
Go to solution

Hello all,

I just noticed this, but does the precision (number of decimal digits) has to be the same on a meter and on its digital display ? It doesn't make sense to me. If the meter only has -10, 0, 10, why should we be forced to display it as -10.000, 0.000, 10.000 if we want 3 digits on the digital display below it ?

In other words I want different precision on the meter itself and on its digital display.

Am I missing something ?

I strongly second your opinion! Till now I am used to replace the digital indicator of a meter with an independent numeric indicator exactly to achieve a different level of precision in between them, but this can be problematic since you could forget updating one of the indicators with obvious strange effects.

Please repost this in the idea exchange and I will kudos this idea immediately! Smiley Wink
