Hi dust'n,

I have checked around as well and I haven't been able to locate this book anywhere either.  This book was published in 2000 and as such, is quite outdated.  It is targeted towards version 5.5 of LabWindows/CVI while the most current version of LabWindows/CVI is 8.1.1.  You could try contacting the publisher, Prentice Hall PTR, to order a single copy of the book.  I found a link to the Prentice Hall Customer Support website at http://www.prenhall.com/mischtm/howtoord.html.

I hope that this helps.

Hi Jonathan,

I would love to get a copy of this book too. A few are selling on ebay for $495-$995!!!

That's insane!

Got the CVI Advanced book, but not much good without the basics.

Can't NI do something? Get some copies back in print?

Thanks,

Larry

Hi Larry,

I agree that nearly a thousand dollars is a bit much for a single book!  As for getting the book back in print, we neither authored or published the book so the best resource for getting a copy back in print would be the publisher, Prentice Hall PTR.

One alternative is our Training & Certification Self-Paced Training kit.  Each kit consists of the course manual and software exercises used in our hands-on courses, so you can take the course at your own pace.  This is a great way to get the exact same materials that we use in every training course that we teach.  I know I personally use the manual from this course on a regular basis as a general reference as well.  The LabWindows/CVI Basics I - Introduction Course Kit is available at http://sine.ni.com/nips/cds/view/p/lang/en/nid/2703.
