EPICS support under LabWindows Soon/Y/N

Is anyone aware of an EPICS handler that will run with the LabWindows/CVI environment?

i am sorry, i found a lot on the net about EPICS, but i don't see what is an EPICS "handler". can you explain it here ?

i found the sources for EPICS here which can be compiled using GCC, but something tells me it may not be what you are looking for.

Could you please provide more information on what an EPICS handler is or links to resources on it and/or how to implement one. I am also unfamiliar with this term.

Probably poor word choice by me.

I had thought that a supervisory "handler"

could be setup to execute a minimal subset of

EPICS core programs, ie CA and archiving, based on

a read of interrupt vectors and an associated data packet.

I had thought that an entry level support for EPICS might start

with at a minimal level and allow evolution using callback and

signal/interrupt processing.

I know this discussion is old and went nowhere, but as I'm embarking on an EPICS project, I'm also interested to know if there's any bridge between EPICS and CVI.

There's a vi for LabView that translates the PV (Process Variables) of EPICS into network variables, so I guess it could probably work with CVI as well.

Hey gdargaud,

I haven't been able to find any specific information about using the EPICS standards with CVI.  However, as you mentioned, this is an old discussion, so you might have more luck creating a new forum post about this question to increase its visibility to the community.

Thanks,

Myriam
