Extreme delay opening VISA Resource Manager Session

Hi,

I have installed my software on several platform for compatibility test.

Everything runs fine on Windows XP and 2000. Where I'm having problem is on 98 and Me. When my software tries to open a visa resource manager session. It takes a very long time before the process return from viOpenDefaultRM,specially with Windows ME where it takes several minutes!

All the platforms run on the same PC, and I have previously installed NI-VISA 2.6 runtime on each one.

Is there any issue about that particular problem? Any hint would be appreciated.

I have not seen this problem but I will try to shed some insight as to what we do during this operation. NI-VISA loads multiple Passports during viOpenDefaultRM. You might try to disable the ones you don't need. You can do this by going into MAX and choosing Tools>>NI-VISA>>Options and clicking on the Passports tab. If you disable them one by one it should point to the problem pretty quickly.
