Is there any chance that this issue gets fixed soon - it is really disturbing me! I am populating the default file spec with a file name which unfortunately is displayed incomplete and thus very confusing. No user expects to scroll left...
PS: running CVI2015

Hello Wolfgang,
Unfortunately this is a Windows known issue and it can't be fixed by NI. See this article: https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsdesktop/en-US/c0c79498-3399-4346-b514-b15336cd7c68/i...

Thank you Constantin (although it is not so good news). Do you happen to know if this is specific to Windows 7 and works for Windows 8 / 10?

By the way - it would be nice if both the CAR and this additional information could be included in the compilation of known issues

Hello Wolfgang,
I've tested with Windows 10 and it's still wrong. According to the ling in the previous post it works fine on Vista.
Sorry to give you these bad news.

I don't know what the CVI wrapper function does (or not), but would it be possible for this warapper function to issue fake keystrokes moving the cursor in the file name box left?
(as a user of FileSelectPopupEx we can't)

I don't think fake keystrokes can be used.
The API is described here: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/bb775966%28v=vs.85%29.aspx
