Real benefits of upgrading to 7.1

Hello,

what are the real benefits of upgrading from LabWindows 7.0 to LabWindows 7.1? If there are just a couple of new components and some minor UI upgrades then I will have really hard time convincing my employee that this new version is nesessary. So what can I tell them that would justify the upgrade? Or is it actually even needed if things are working fine now?

Do I understand it correctly that "Analyze Billions of Data Points with the NI DIAdem Connectivity Library " refers to the new "test data managament"? Has somebody already got some experience with it? What I understand is that tdm-files allow for better handling of data stored in files stemming from measurement and analysis.
I have problems finding the right way of how to save data files without loosing overview. Would this new feature help me with this problem or is it only usefull in combination with Diadem?
I couldn't find an example in the example code library. Did I miss it?
I have LabWindow/CVI Version 7.0 and think about updating to version 7.1 if tdm-files is the new feature that can help me with my problem.

Hello TWagner,

The TDM files are a way to more efficiently store data to disk.  The TDM files can be ready by LabVIEW, LabWindows, as well as DIAdem.  DIAdem is a great software package which is able to handle very large sets of data for manipulation, computation, and presentation.

You may have seen this link before which hits on some of the advantages to 7.1 as well as a little more features of the data streaming integration: http://zone.ni.com/devzone/conceptd.nsf/webmain/3c9b4cfca656120586256f0b004eefd1#5.

Please let me know if I can help out any further,
