in recent years I've taken the habit of delivering my acquisition sofware on CVI for Linux. It saves on all security nightmare of Windows. And interfacing with custom hardware is much simpler. Anyway, CVI runs mostly fine, if slow and a little bit ugly, but completely usable.
But among the things that are really 'ancient looking' are the file popups. You cannot resize them nor sort the files. You can't even see long names completely. See example.
