Stop searching Backup files - LabWindows/CVI

How do I get LabWindow 8.5 to stop searching the backup files?

I don't think I understand what you are asking.  What are you doing to make LabWindows/CVI search these backup files, and what are the backup files it is searching?

Hello,

here is what I think you mean: in CVI8.5, an auto backup system is implemented. When you want CVI to find a string (Ctrl-F), and you enter "*.c,*.h" in the File Types field, CVI will list all appearances of the string in the source code files, as well as in the backup files, which can be pretty annoying...

I see what you are talking about now.  So, in CVI I press Ctrl+F, select Multiple Files... and select Show All Matches. In that extra part of dialog it brings up, it gives you two independent ways of searching.  You can either search a certain file type within a folder, or search files associated with the project.

If you select Search in Folders then it will search the backup file because it is a .c file in that folder.

I would suggest unselecting Search in Folders and just putting checks next to the files you want to search in Additional Files.  This way you do not search the backup files, but still are searching things relevant to your project.
