TDS5000 Delay Measurements

I'm attempting to run a Tektronix TDS5000 scope through GPIB in Labview.  While some of the functions for it work, whenever I try and use the "Read Delay Measurements" VI it returns an error

"Channel or repeated capability name required"

I can't work out what it means by this.  Does anyone have experience with this problem?

Thanks

Hi Matt,

Please can you let me have some extra information on this?  Are you controlling the TDS5000 with direct GPIB calls?  Are you using a driver vi that you have written, or are you using a downloaded vi?  If you have a downloaded vi, please can you let me know where you got it from?

Many thanks

Actually, I eventually managed to resolve this particular problem (I managed to leave the simulate part of the option string set to 1 by accident, hence it was trying to read delay measurements off of a single sine wave).  But was confronted by a new similar one anyway.

I am using the VIs from the Labview support site:

It now appears to not be able to see the oscilloscope at all from these VIs despite the Measurement and Automation Explorer finding it with no problems.

I've been wondering if there are different types of GPIB protocols and I've managed to pick the wrong one or something.

Any help appreciated

Hi Matt,

I believe that this is an issue with the IVI driver setup.

Please can you check that you have got the driver session fully set up through MAX, so that you have your hardware asset and logical names in place?

I can also look into it further from here, so please can you send me your IviConfig file from <C:\program files\ivi\Data\IviConfigurationStore.xml> so that I can look at the setup you have got.

Thanks

Hi Matt,

One other thing that would be useful - please can you send me a screenprint of MAX with the IVI Drivers section expanded right out, so that I can see how you have that set up to be able to confirm all of your settings against the iviconfig file

Thanks
