Unable to save user interface resource file...

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi all

I have to migrate a project from CVI 6 to CVI 2013.

After some work linking DLL/LIBs now everything compiles and links fine and the exe is running like expected.

But there are some user resource files which I have to modify. As soon as I open them one of them (after a few seconds) or when I want to change a little thing and save the file I get the following error message (see also attachment):

Unable to save user interface resource file "....uir" (File is not user interface file or has been corrupted)

Whats the problem and how to solve it?

Any idea is welcome.

Best regards

Andreas

any ideas Smiley Wink:

- can you post your problematic ui file here?

- do you have write access to your LS0 WORK\bin folder?

Another idea could be to save the UIR file in text format (Options >> Save in text format... menu item) and regenerate the file from scratch loading from the text file, replacing the original one in the project with the new one.

Proud to use LW/CVI from 3.1 on.

Hi all

Thanks for your ideas.

I oversaw that its possible to push the standard save button of cvi after I clicked away the strange error messages.

Strange but true: So the UIR files are saved now (in the proper format) and the error messages don't appear anymore.

I guess there is a little bug (or format change or whatsoever...) in CVI 2013 when overtaking the UIR files from CVI 6.

Have a nice day.

Andreas
