Why will a tabbed panel not be saved when installed in a UIR file?

Solved!
Go to solution

I started a new application, opened a main panel in the uir then created a tabbed panel on the main panel.

When saved, the tabbed panel is always missing when the file is re-opened.

I opened a second test panel, did the same thing, but the tabbed panel always reloads when the second test panel is re-opened.

Hello clunden,

I tested this, but I wasn't able to reproduce the problem.  I started a new project, added a new user interface, added a tabbed panel to the main panel, and saved the project and the user interface.  When I re-open the user interface, the tabbed panel is still there.  I tried with the main panel that is created with a new user interface, and I tried by deleting the main panel and creating a new main panel with the same results.

Are you able to reproduce this problem, or did it only happen with one user interface?

Regards,

The second panel opened in repeated tries & worked perfectly everytime.

The original continued to NOT save the tabbed panel only!  Other items saved correctly.

I finally just saved the second test panel as the first & continued on as if nothing happened.

Since this is a newer version for me, I thought perhaps I had inadvertantly set some parameter on the first to cause the problem, but none found.

Hey clunden,

Are you able to reproduce this problem with a new project, or have you only seen the problem in the one UIR file?

It sounds like something was corrupted in the UIR file which kept the panel from being saved.  I think it is unlikely that this is a bug in CVI, but if you are able to reproduce the problem in a new project, please let me know.

Thanks,

Brandon V.

I'm sorry that I did not forward the UIR file to you with the problem.

Should it happen again, I will get it to you for sure.

Thanks for your efforts.
