I need to drive an external DOS computer, which is running an application driven by keystrokes, from my test program. I am running LabWindows/CVI 6.0 and Windows 200 on my host computer. I am thinking about sending ASCII keystrokes out of a serial port on the host computer from CVI. Then I would need something to translate the ASCII key codes to the keyboard scan codes and plug this into the keyboard input of the DOS computer. Can this be done? Where can I find the keyboard coded to send out the serial port. Can you help with interfacing to the keyboard port on the DOS computer.

Take a look at back of Circuit Cellar. They have these RS232 to keyboard
coverters. One link I find is www.hagstromelectronics.com
