"Find UI Object" doesn't jump to some controls

Solved!
Go to solution

I did a search and found other "Find UI Object" posts, but none quite match my observation.

Here is the issue.  I prefer to have my panels spread out in my UIR, without overlap.  This allows me to work on panels without getting lost.

The trouble with this model is that when I choose the "Find UI Object" context menu option from a callback function, it takes me to the top of the UIR, not down below were the panel is located.

If I do the same steps for a control that happens to be located in a panel near the top of the UIR, then all is well.  The UIR is just not scrolling down to show me where the control actually is.

Which version of CVI are you using? Up to CVI 2012 i have observed a similar behaviour but only for controls located on tab panels. I have posted a suggestion in the CVI Idea Exchange on this: you can comment that idea adding your experience and/or kudos it to support it.

Proud to use LW/CVI from 3.1 on.

Ah, you are correct.  This behavior is actually confined only to controls on tab pages.  My mistake.

It's not a mistake of yours: it's CVI that does not performs well in this case! Smiley Wink

I created a bug report to track this (488375) since this should be considered a bug, rather than a potential feature.
