I saw this question was answered back to 2013, with the answer being to use the IMAQ Unwrap tool. Thing is, I don't want to unwrap. I just want a donut-shaped image. Has anything been added since 2013 to let me do this? (BTW, I'm using LV2015.)

Hello another_novice,
Have you taken a look at this KB, Specify Annulus as Region of Interest Using NI VAS? It has a link to an example VI identifying an annulus as the ROI.
Also, the example VI's for the IMAQ Extract Contour VI could be a good starting place for identifying and extracting an annulus from an image. These don't specifically get the image to a donut-shape, but they demonstrate the tools that one could utilize to get there.
Best regards,

Hi Ryan,
Great information. Thank you. I wish I'd had the ROI instructions years ago when I first started using LabVIEW!
I'll let you know how it works out for me.
Thanks again.

The forum bot wants to know if my question was answered. I'll say yes although I didn't try it. I just decided to go with a masking approach instead as it seemed easier.
