When distributing a vision application to a customer he initially also gets a NI Vision Development Module Run-Time License.
Now, I am planning to take one application from version 2010 to a later version. My customers will have to update to the according version if they want to stay on "my update channel".
How does the update procedure of the Vision Development Module Run-Time take place in practice?
I could not find an according paper on ni.com.
product info is here for reference:
778044-35 NI Vision Development Module Run-Time License

Hello Roman.
The license I am talking about is the 778044-35. Do I have to order a new license when upgrading?
Thanks, Guenter

Hey GuneterMueller,
in general this Runtime-License should be downwards compatible. But to ensure that simply download the needed Runtime
and try to activate it.

Hi Gunter,
When installing the new version of your software the user will be able to upgrade the license.
If the computer has internet connection then the process is simple.
If the user needs to uninstall the older version completely then he needs the serial number that you got when installing the run-time on the first place.
