I posted to the LabVIEW forum several years ago "Codec issues in recording and playback..." looking for help with efficiently storing grayscale video files and playing back those files using the LabVIEW Vision Development tools. We are considering updating the vision application that we developed and replicating it for another system. Does anyone know if further development of the software has occurred over these years to add support for newer codecs that use key frames, such as H.264? I wonder if there are royalty/licensing issues with supporting H.264. Could anyone recommend an efficient codec that works well with LabVIEW that isn't very old technology?

Hey jtrout,
Have you seen the following Knowledge Base article?
Unfortunately H264 is not officially supported by the current IMAQdx drivers, but other alternatives are mentioned, such as using Handbrake to make the conversion.
Best regards,
