What USB Video capture device is supported by labview?

Hello i have single camera that output PAL/NTSC video, with s-video connector, and i want to capture the video in my laptop, i need a usb device that is supported by labview.

USB cameras are supported in LabVIEW with the Vision Acquisition Software 2009 and the IMAQdx 3.4 driver. As far as the camera goes, the camera must be DirectShow compliant.

There are a number of cameras that would work. Some would work better for your particular application and it is completely dependent on what you are looking for in a camera. As long as the USB camera is DirectShow compliant, it will work with the new and improved IMAQdx driver.

If you are looking for a specific make and model, I have used Creative Labs Live! Cam Video IM and the Live! Cam Vista IM.

If  you want to rely on a USB camera that you can use in video recording and image processing, I recommend using Chameleon USB camera. It is a state of the art camera with generic design for image processing:

but im not looking for camera, im looking for frame grabber(ntsc/pal) usb device that is supported by labview.

In general, as long as the device ships with DirectShow drivers and you can acquire images with other DirectShow software (such as Microsoft's AMCAP utility or Microsoft NetMeeting) you can likely acquire just fine using Vision Acquisition 2009 in LabVIEW and any other ADE that we support. There are a number of low-cost USB TV tuners (with additional inputs) that *should* work in this regard. Note that the results you achieve from this level of hardware is pretty much what you pay for. There is a reason NI sells dedicated analog framegrabbers and camera companies sell industrial/machine-vision cameras...

In any case, I have personally tried some cheap KWorld USB TV-tuner devices (I believe it may have been the ATSC 315U) with some success. You cannot capture ATSC (ie digital TV transmissions) because this goes through a different interface than a normal DirectShow capture device, but you can select between the S-Video and composite inputs and capture frames. Note that it is impossible to guarantee that any particular model will work as most vendors ship drivers of dubious quality and update them (and break things) regularly.
