When did support for USB Vision start?

Solved!

Bought a new IDS SE model camera advertised as USB3.1 compliant but I can't get it to show up in MAX. I use LV2015 and my MAX is at 16. When did support start for USB3.1?

Ca 2013 or 2014.

1) do you see the camera with the IDS tool?

2) is it sufficiently powered? Connected to a USB3 port?

3) which version of VAS is installed on your PC? Do you even have VAS on your PC?

4) is the windows device driver for your port a USB 3 driver (check in device manager).

1) haven't tried actually. I expected it just to run in MAX.

2) Yes it is plugged in to a USB 3 port.

3) Running VAS from September 2016

4) Yes.

Is it possible that this IDS model uses the USB 3.1 bus but is not officially USB3 Vision compatible?

You can look for the logo below on the data sheets or literature related to the camera:

I checked the website of IDS and didn't see any SE cameras listed as USB3 Vision compatible:

https://en.ids-imaging.com/store/products/cameras/ids-api/usb3-vision.html

It's worth noting that USB3 Vision supports both USB 3.0 and USB 3.1 cameras. All USB3 Vision compatible cameras use the USB3 bus, but not all USB3 cameras are USB3 Vision compatible. You should clarify with IDS documentation and/or support that this camera is indeed compatible with the USB3 Vision standard.

The first release that supported USB3 Vision was August 2013, so your driver version is plenty new enough.

Edit: Can you show a screenshot of the camera in Device Manager? It should look like the attached file.

I think you nailed it with the USB3 Vision compatibility. It isn't.
